::Takahiro Masaru::
Type:Original
Age:16
Gender:Male
Sexuality:Straight
Crushes:Sayuri Takeru
Face Claim:Naoi-Angel Beats
Appearance:Physically, Masaru is on the lighter side in built and size, weighing in at approximately 146lbs. and 5ft. 9in in height. He is skinny, not muscled, though he holds himself in a rather strict, military like fashion that gives him a presence anyway. He is fast but doesn't have much of a punch behind it. Still, he keeps himself in shape, in case he is ever in need of getting into a fight of some sort in any operations for his organization. His legs and torso are in a normal proportion, and the same with his arms. Overall, Masaru is not physically different from any other high school boy, or if anything smaller than someone his age. Some may generally consider him handsome and appealing, but he shows no interest in using it to his advantage (unlike a certain group of hosts…..).
Masaru's hair is a bit on the long side, going down to his neck. He keeps it styled in a way though that keeps it from fluttering around like a girl. His hair is framed by two lengths of his hair, and his forehead is covered by a variety of lengthened bangs. In coloring, it's a black colored that, in certain lights, can appear to be a very dark green. As for his eyes, Masaru's eyes are normally in a serious, thinking position, though in public he is able to make them appear nicer. They are a brownish-color that, in certain lights, could appear to be a dark yellow.
In clothing, Masaru does have a presence for dressing in more professional clothing, even in a more casual situation. Obviously, he wears the male Ouran High School uniform when attending the school, but during his off days he’ll adopt another formal outfit. Keeping the white dress shirt for an undershirt, he’ll wear a royal blue button-up jacket with a popped up collar and a pocket over the left breast. He combines it with a pair of black dress pants and dress shoes. On rare occasions, however, he will switch out to a polo-shirt and a pair of khaki jeans and tennis shoes. He only does this when he is expecting to have a lot of walking around or physical activity.
Personality:As the son of a major politician, Masaru has learned to be patient, diplomatic, and ‘charismatic’ in public in order to gain support and keep good relations with people who could be useful in the future. He carries himself with great confidence and professionalism, always making sure to keep prim and proper and to act professional in public. Therefore, he has a dislike for silly antics, surprises, stupidity, and anything that can lead to being perceived negatively by the public (therefore, he has a bit of a disdain for the Host Club but is neutral in behavior towards them). Overall, he has learned to be act professional and charismatic towards people in general, and knows how to use this to his advantage for anything he needs to do.
Generally, however, Masaru considers himself as a person who acts in his own self-interest: he does not consider anything he does as improving the welfare for others but only in improving his own. If others are helped, it is only a side-effect of his own benefit being improved. When he is not in public and therefore required to act polite and charismatic, he can seem like a cold and indifferent person. He can also be a bit short-tempered whenever there isn’t a large enough crowd to force him to behave; however, afterwards he will return to his more professional behavior and simply walk out on the situation.
His coldness, however, contrasts with his younger personality, a personality that has its rare moments of appearing. When he was younger, Masaru lacked a lot of confidence and was a very cowardly person that led to him being bullied and a being labeled a ‘crybaby.’ However, he was considered a rather kind kid too and was very good at being able to sympathize and empathize with others. His current personality is, in many ways, an attempt to suppress and refute that personality by hardening his own emotions and forcing himself to ‘grow up’ and be more confident. Those moments of anger he has tend to occur as a response to feeling scared, feeling the best way to get rid of it is to just turn it into anger.
The rare moments that he tends to let this out, however, is when he is around his childhood friend Sayuri Takeru. As his “bodyguard” she protected him, and served as his inspiration to become who is now. Her leaving, however, had a dramatic effect as well, closing off his emotions as it was easier then addressing his feelings directly, which would be best interpreted as ‘love’ to just about anyone but him and Sayuri. His need to look professional, however, combined with social pressure (after all, how many politicians married their bodyguards?) means he has basically suppressed the feelings. However, it’s hard to act cold towards a childhood friend, even if you try, and so he is a lot more open and warmer towards her, and it is a lot more sincere as well. Still, if pressured, he won’t admit his feelings, although he tends to sound a little over specific, professional, and technical when he makes up a reason for acting a certain way towards her…
History:Masaru was the firstborn son of a prominent political-active family in Japan. His father, grandfather, etc. had all taken positions in various parts of the government, from local politicians all the way to the House of Councillors in the National Diet. Family members who weren’t in politics usually worked in business or law, giving the family an upper-class air to it that, combined with their political influence, made them a very prominent family that could easily send their son to the prestigious Ouran Academy when he was older. After all, he was going to be the heir to the family’s money and power, and there was no better way to prepare him then the best schooling that could be offered. A bright future was ahead for him.
There was only one problem with that: the boy was soon found to be, in personality, weak, cowardly, and a bit of a crybaby. He wasn’t a stupid boy, but his weakness made him easy pickings for bullies to taunt and tease him at school. With his confidence shot by the constant teasing, Masaru was not able to do well in school, and it was obvious to all that he might not be a good heir to the family’s fortunes; after all, politics was a tough game. Still, it didn’t look like he was going to be getting any better, until the day the family hired some bodyguards after a threat was made against Masaru’s father….
It was at school, and some of the older students were picking on Masaru. He, of course, was already broken down and crying by that point. All of a sudden, a girl about his age of eleven had come over and chased off the bullies. While he didn’t know it at the time, the girl was Sayuri Takeru, the daughter of the family of bodyguards his family had hired. Over the next year Masaru stuck next to Sayuri like glue, and it was not just because she was his bodyguard. No, it was deeper than that; he looked up to the girl, and while she was stoic and cut off, he still felt she was a kind and warm person at heart. With all their time together, he soon grew affection for her and even a bit of a crush for her.
When she was taken away, however, he was crushed. She had been his rock and defender all that year, and with her gone he was now forced to fend for himself. Combined with his parents now forcing their own private studies on him alongside what Ouran was throwing at him, Masaru almost broke from the pressure. However, remembering Sayuri’s example, he buckled up and forced himself to improve….by locking away his emotions. If being a crybaby was just going to ruin him, and if Sayuri could be so strong and stoic, then he was going to be like her.
Over the next few years, Masaru’s grades improved as his confidence increased, and his social status was doing better as well. Still, he couldn’t help but feel as if something was missing, but he just pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the tasks at hand. His mindset began focusing on himself more and more, hoping that by acting like an egoist he could escape the weakness that had haunted his younger life. Now that he is attending the final few years of Ouran, he has received word that Sayuri is returning. How he’ll act is yet to be seen….Controller's Information

Sample RP:Masaru dully stared at the poster that was presented in front of him. It was the Host Club up to their usual antics, but the idea that they were going to try and make a movie was just beyond their normal level of ridiculous. Sure, the occasional dance or something like that was understandable, but a movie? Well, whatever; if they wanted to waste their time with something so stupid…no, he couldn’t say that. Somehow, for all their stupidity they were some of the most popular people in the school. Luckily his parents were of the opinion he didn’t need to mingle and learn their charisma; except for that boy Kyou none of them were probably going to be that great or inspiring in the future and were basically doomed to mediocrity in real life (well, mediocre as the heirs to rich family fortunes could be).
Walking away as the fangirls squeed over the poster, Masaru strolled towards the courtyard of the school. Looking over towards the elementary school, he let a small smile out as his memories returned to the day he first met Sayuri, the girl who would dedicate her life to protecting him as he stood their crying like a pathetic excuse of a person. He never wanted to be that weak again, and he forced himself to shake the memories from his head. There was no time to dwell on nostalgic memories; he had to focus on the future. Even if those memories were pleasant, that time was past him and he had to move on. Sayuri left for several years and he had to move on his own…
However, he had received some rather interesting news recently. Apparently the girl was going to be returning soon to serve as his permanent bodyguard. That was his main purpose for being out here; to simply wait for her and introduce her to the upper part of Ouran Academy. Their relationship was going to be one that was purely professional since, after all, he had buried that past relationship with her. No, she was still a ‘friend,’ but that would be the most he would view her as. After all, there was a danger becoming attached to a person whose task was to risk their life for you. Still, he had to admit there was a pleasurable feeling to seeing an old friend after several years, even if his head was telling him he had to ignore that...
