Nekozawa had a problem. The problem was simple really, he wanted people to stop screaming and running away when he wished to talk to them. No one seemed to understand that he was truly pleasant and would only curse someone who deserved it and only jokes about cursing others. No one understands his dark humor, obviously.
He had heard from passing students that the host had decided to take on apprentices although he had also heard that so far no one has been accepted. He would guess that Kyouya was denying certain people he found undesirable. Umehito Nekozawa was nothing is not hard working and stubborn, he would do anything to be normal.. or well normal plus a phobia and a love for the dark arts.
He finally walked into the 3rd music room, his cloak pulled high to avoid the sun, (Why was there so much windows in JUST this room?) The cloaked boy spoke in a slow level tone (he was trying to sound less creepy) and said, "Souh-kun and his hosts?" Before he walked into the center of the room. Umiheto snapped his fingers and the curtains magically shut themselves. The host club had just ended for that day so only the hosts remained. "Would you please make me a host?"

With another day of hosting done, Tamaki was preparing for heading on home. So far everything had been working fine with Haruhi’s introduction into the club; no real issues or complaints from guests. His plan seemed to be working so far to introduce Haruhi into a whole new world of richness, beauty, and manners. In fact, he was doing such a wonderful job, he wondered if maybe he could start an extensive host training program of sorts. Even if he wouldn’t bring them into the club, teaching the other boys of the school how to be gentlemen would greatly improve the quality of Ouran (beyond it’s ridiculous high standards to begin with), and hopefully improve the happiness of the many, many girls at this school. Plus, being a teacher just felt so good he wanted to keep doing it.
All of a sudden, however, he heard a creepy voice throughout the room, and the lights suddenly turned out as the curtains shut. Tamaki froze; such behavior only warranted one person…Nekozawa. After an incident involving Beelzenef, the boy’s beloved curse doll, Tamaki was deathly afraid of the black-magic boy. Ducking down behind the table, Tamaki eyed the boy warily.
”Hello Nekozawa. What is it that you want?”
From the imagined safety of his table, Tamaki listened as Nekozawa…asked to be a host? Would there be a person who liked the creepy, dark character type that was Nekozawa? While Kyouya might like the saving on light costs, there was no way the Host Club could work in the dark like that, which they would have to do if Nekozawa was a host. Plus, was the boy really suited to being a Host? There was so many questions that the proposal left that Tamaki wasn’t sure.
Still, Tamaki couldn’t let a friend of his just be rejected so easily. He could at the very least try and give the boy a chance. A lot of work was going to be needed to even get somewhere though where the girls would give him a chance. Most importantly, that cloak and the lights being on were going to be needed. Well, it wasn’t the first time he dragged a person under his wing to mold into a host (they did just adopt Haruhi by force after all).
”So you want to become a host then Nekozawa?”
Tamaki got out slowly from behind the table, addressing Nekozawa with some flair as he pointed a finger at him.
”Well then, if you are willing to put in the work and effort, then I will take you on as an apprentice. But first,” like Nekozawa, Tamaki snapped his fingers, the curtains opening,”we need some light. You must learn to take advantage of lighting to show off your best features. Plus…it’s a little hard to host in the dark.”
