::Kyuuri Koimatsu::
Type: Original
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Crushes: -Pending-
Face Claim: Not sure but this is not my art.
Appearance:Kyuuri isn't a tall female but she's not short either standing at a graceful 5'7" she's got height on most of the girls she knows. She weighs a mere 125 lbs, a healthy weight for her height that is mainly muscle on her well toned body. Her figure is petite and she has a slightly graceful appearance to her, her body as mentioned before is toned from her participation in Kendo. Her legs are her favorite feature as they are long and slender but well muscled and tone, just as her arms are slender as is her feet and hands, some say she has the delicate fingers of a pianist but she likes to disagree. Her face is heart shaped with a small nose and a pair of almond shaped honey colored eyes that always seem to shine with a spark of her fiery personality.
Despite her rough and tumble, tomboyish personality Kyuuri's hair is always kept long and free. She takes very good care of her hair and takes pride in it, only restraining it when absolutely necessary. It is a dark brown, almost black, in color with a few red strips in her bangs that she dyes there for a unique spin from the other girls. Her hair reaches almost to her lower back, framed around her face and her bangs are kept long in a fringe that reaches just to the tops of her eyes covering her thin eyebrows. It's not uncommon to see her with ribbons tying together some of her longer bangs on each side of her face, usually in some sort of shade of red as it's her favorite color.
Her clothing differs greatly, she prefers to wear the males uniform when at school despite being a girl. She hates dresses with a passion and would probably cause more of a fuss if they made her wear the females uniform that would be worth it. She can however stomach wearing a skirt and often wears one coupled with some sort of t-shirt, tank top, or long sleeved shirt usually in black with a hint of red on it somewhere. She also has an affinity for a pair of gloves the extend up to her elbow and have one loop to hook around her middle finger. These are usually flat black and she constantly wears them even in uniform.
There is a reason for her gloves and that is to cover the scars on her arms. They are thin and white, crisscrossing her arms at random intervals from the back of her hand up to the crease of her elbow and she hates them. They however come from an incident in her childhood that she is proud of. Even though the incident makes her proud the scars do not and so she hides them under the gloves at all times.
Personality:Kyuuri is that girl that stands up for everyone else. She'll get into a fight for a complete stranger just to keep them out of harms way and do what's right. She has a strong moral compass and would never do anything that would cause lasting harm. She does however have a temper on her that tends to flare when someone hurts another person who is undeserving of that punishment or when she sees someone being bullied. Her temper can also flare when she's flustered as it's an automatic defense mechanism rather than allowing others to see that's she's upset or embarrassed.
When not being pestered however she can perceived as polite but slightly cold or aloof. She's usually reserved in front of others with any emotions other than anger but will not pass up a chance to help someone out if they need it. This being said she has plenty of acquaintances but little to no friends to speak of. She's never really been much into being really girly unless it has to do with her hair which she loves and can often be a trigger of her rage if it is messed up or with in a way she doesn't like. On top of all of this Kyuuri is a very stubborn and determined young lady. She never gives up on something or someone, no matter what the odds or others say to discourage her. She'll often work herself to death to achieve the goals set before her, even if they are not her own. She can also be a perfectionist and so is very hard on herself in her Kendo training, she wants nothing more than to become one of the best even if she would rather be playing the piano.
Kyuuri is easily taken advantage of when it comes to pleasing her parents or others she respects. If she allows someone to become her friend or if she comes to respect them she will do anything for them regardless of what that might do to her in the long run. She'd rather see them happy than herself, but these things can often leave her out in the cold. She feels she's always the protector and never the protected, and longs really for someone to just protect her one day instead of assuming that she's tough and can handle it. Her own strength is her worst enemy and her independence seems to mock her, but she can't bring herself to give it up. She never wants to become the damsel and appear weak.
History:Kyuuri was born to a wealthy and prestigious family that specialized in Kendo. They weren't quite as reknowed as the Morinozuka's and it troubled them deeply to know that was so. The family had spent years producing heirs they though could become the best and after generations of trying they weren't about to give up. Kyuuri's birth was frowned upon as she was a female, the second female of the family and not a male like her mother and father had wanted. The parents were cold towards their two daughters but more so to Kyuuri as they looked upon her as a second disappointment which seemed in some way far worse than the first. Kyuuri and her sister Chikori were rather close, the two never seen apart if they could help it.
Despite being the older sibling Chikori had always been the one in poor health and was the frailest of the two. Kyuuri willingly took up the role of protector for her sister, being the strongest in health and personality. After failed attempts at other pregnancies their parents decided that Kyuuri would go on to learn Kendo even if they never expected her to measure of to the Morinozuka's latest prodigy. To their surprise Kyuuri was a natural at it and took to it with amazing tenacity and the will to make her parents proud. Kendo was only her second favorite activity however, her first had become piano, which her sister had introduced her to when she had started to learn at school.
Kyuuri wasn't such a natural at the piano but she was more determined than ever to master it. When she went into school music quickly became her favorite but she had to put it on the back burner due to her duty to her family which meant she had to join the Kendo Club. She didn't mind so much and was even friendly with the other members becoming quite popular with them, that was until disaster struck in the form of a fire. One night an electrical outlet shorted and sparked a fire in her parents home causing the house to start to burn in their sleep. Kyuuri was the first to awaken but the house was already in a blaze that she couldn't stop. She woke her parents first and then went after Chikori, by the time she reached her room however it was ablaze. Her older sister was at the door but part of the roof had been destroyed and so was blocking it.
Without fear Kyuuri had plunged her arms into the gaps in the inferno, ignoring the coals that dropped by burning her arms. She was attempting to pull her sister out but the other could not get through and being the weaker of the two succumbed to the smoke passing out. Kyuuri herself fainted from it all but was soon rescued by the firemen their parents had called, she spent time in the hospital for her burns on her arms, the ones that would leave scars she would always cover. As well as recovering from not only the smoke but the sorrow of her sisters death whom couldn't be saved from the burning wreackage. Due to their home being destroyed and the awful memories that house now held they were forced to move and Kyuuri transferred schools.
Her parents put her in Ouran Academy after hearing that their rivals child went there, even after the death of their first daughter they were still focused on their goal. So Kyuuri started her days at the Academy, she adjusted quickly but her attitude was no longer the same. She was more likely to be found on her own now and her intensity for both Kend and Piano increased, one for her parents sake and the other for her sisters memory. She was determined to become the best at both and so she's spent her time working towards that goal and at her parents behest trying to get to know the prodigy of the Morinozuka family.Controller's Information

Papaya Island was over run with tourists, but that was nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year. One of the annual World Martial Arts Tournaments was coming up, the sign up for said event was today at least. As far as Keira knew they wouldn't actually start the preliminary rounds until the next day but that didn't mean that the festivities themselves wouldn't start until then. The festival of souls was already drawing a crowd to the beautiful island, with it's sand beaches and wonderful sites it was an ideal place for a get away. The chocolate haired Saiyan girl pushed back a lock of her hair and cast her gaze around at the milling crowds, there were races of people here she didn't even know. It was like the universe had got the memo about the tournament and not just the Earth, it wasn't surprising really considering some of the fighters that made their home on Earth.
She'd never met any of them but that didn't mean she wasn't hoping to in the near future. If she had to bet her life on it, she'd guess that at least one of them was of her own race. The mere thought made her proud and she felt a slight smile slip onto her face as she brought the soft puff of cotton candy to her lips. The blue fluff melted instantly on her tongue and she noticed a few younger boys watching her and winked at them shamelessly. They weren't her type from what she could tell and much too young so she didn't linger instead moving quickly on and dodging her way through the crowds while keeping her eyes on the stalls she passed. The festival had just about everything one could want, there were games where you could win prizes and there were booths were you could buy trinkets or painted masks. There were of course more than one kid outside these stalls wailing to their parents about buying them something, as seemed typical for earth children. There were even fake tattoo stalls set up for those who wanted to appear edgy for the weekend.
The girls pink gaze swept over the stalls not looking for anything particular but waiting for something to catch her eye. For her it was a blade stand that finally slowed her swift movement and one blade in particular that changed her direction bringing her over to the quaint wood shack in which the vendor stood. He was a wizened old man but looked kind enough, simply standing behind, his eyes took a roam over the girl before him but didn't linger thankfully. Her dark purple t-shirt was a bit tight and her black shorts were maybe a little shorter than most might have dared but it wasn't anything too outrageous, just enough to get her a few distasteful looks from old men here and there. Her delicate hand moved out and balanced a short blade in her hand gently before she ran her hand along the silver flat side. The metal was cool against her finger despite the warmth of the air around her and something about it begged her to take it, she almost felt it warming to her touch like it was a living thing.
She dug in her pocket with her free hand pulling out some zeni before glancing up at the men, "How much?" she asked curiously. He merely pointed at the price tag and while a little steep it was affordable so she pulled out the proper amount and laid it down for him. After thanking her for her purchase he gave her the sheath for the blade and sent her on her way. With her first purchase under her belt she was a lot more content and her feet carried her to the fountain that had been set up in the center of the sprawling festival as a general rest area. There were all ages and types resting around it's waters and even a few kids splashing through the waters chasing the quickly darting Koi that had been placed in there. She watched them in amusement and with no regards to being splashed hoisted herself onto the lowest tier of the said fountain. With minimal effort she managed to propel herself up to the second tier and crossed her legs on the rim.
The kids below giggled and splashed at her eliciting a childish game of sticking her tongue at them before they set their sights back on the koi. From her height she could easily see the sprawling grounds and the mist from the trickling water was cooling enough that the warm and stickiness of the air was no longer getting to her. She let her hands trail through the water staring down at her own reflection and blinked once before splashing the image and looking back out at the crowd. She'd thought the festival would be more interesting than this with so many people and races milling about but so far it had been nothing but a bust in her opinion. The only worthwhile thing had been the purchase of her new blade.
