::Haruhi Fujioka::
Type: Canon Age: 15 Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Crushes: None Face Claim: N/A
Appearance:
Physically, Haruhi is nothing more than plain and ordinary. Standing at roughly five feet flat and weighing approximately 110 lbs, she is relatively average, with a slight bit of muscle on her arms and legs, though not overly muscular. In comparison to most of her female classmates, Haruhi's bust is akin to that of an ironing board. Her most distinguishing feature, however, is her eyes; they are round and seem to have a very robust appearance to them, also with a bit of a "shine" whenever she wears contact lenses. She is also known to have a very bright, charming, charismatic smile.
To many, Haruhi appears to look more like a boy with feminine features than an actual female. Because of an incident with a boy before she started at Ouran Academy, Haruhi was forced to crop her hair relatively short, which only adds to her boyish look. Most of the time, she also wears glasses, as she lost her contact lenses on the first day of school.
Despite attending the prestigious Ouran Academy, Haruhi is not commonly dressed in the school uniform. Because of monetary issues, she is often dressed in baggy, boyish clothing consisting of a dull grey tweed sweater, plain black dress pants, and white pinstriped dress shirt. As well, she wears plain black shoes. She often has a somewhat dishevelled appearance, mostly because she has no care about her actual appearance and is more concerned about her grades than anything.
Casually, however, Haruhi does have more of a care about her appearance. She is known to wear considerably loose garments, usually consisting of a plain t-shirt underneath a long tank top resembling a loose dress. She will also sometimes wear jeans underneath, and a bit of jewelery around her neck every now and again. At times she will also wear wigs and extensions in her hair, simply because it's difficult to style short hair in different ways.
Personality:
Haruhi's most prominent personality trait is her independent nature. She will often try to rely on only herself to get by in the world, rarely allowing others to do things for her. She is not the type to ask for help from others, preferring to figure things out herself. As a result, she may often seem detached from others, as she has not taken the time to lean on anyone no matter how difficult the situation is. This independent nature, however, can also lead to Haruhi finding herself in situations where she is at a disadvantage, without really thinking the entirety of the situation through.
Along with being independent, Haruhi is very straight-forward, sometimes to the point of extreme bluntness. She will state things as they are and will rarely take into account what others might think of the situation. As a result, Haruhi can be considered brutally honest as well, sometimes to the point of even seeming rude to others.
Haruhi has a very down-to-earth outlook on life, being very pratical and sensible in everything she does and says. She is extremely responsible when it comes to everything she does; she is the type of girl that will always make sure her homework is finished before she has free time, will be sure to keep things neat and tidy, and doesn't usually find much time to "fool around". She is known to enjoy peaceful, quiet situations, and doesn't mind having to work to do things.
While Haruhi is often unflappable in the most dire of situations, there is one thing that she does fear the most: thunderstorms. Haruhi has a form of astrophobia, where the sound and sight of thunder and lightning will terrify her. She will be unable to move, often hiding under objects such as tables or within wardrobes to get away from the noise and sight. Despite the fact that it is her worst fear, it is still something she will never admit to anyone, and will often try to deal with the extremity of her fear alone.
Haruhi is also easily bribed by fancy tuna [ootoro].
History:
Haruhi was born into a... Somewhat normal family. Her mother was a successful lawyer, but it was her father that was the odd one; Ryoji, best known as "Ranka", was a crossdresser, or transvestite. Haruhi was able to deal with this fact of her life with relative ease, as to her it was considered normal. Born into a commoner's family, she had a relatively normal childhood, with nothing extravagant to speak of. As a toddler, she seemed to have an advanced view of the world; she was very intelligent for her age, a trait that was always said to be inherited from her mother.
At the age of five, however, Haruhi's life changed drastically. Haruhi's mother fell ill, and was hospitalized for months on end. After a period of about three months in the hospital, her mother passed away, leaving Haruhi to live with her father. Haruhi was quite distraught, often asking questions about whether her mother would return or not. Despite that, she knew deep down that it wasn't true. The night of her mother's funeral, there was a loud thunderstorm outside, which kept Haruhi up the entire night; this was where she developed her fear of thunderstorms, as the depression caused by her mother's death and the fact that she couldn't sleep because of the thunderstorm caused her to believe that it was the sign that her mother was going to be gone; she could remember the night her mother was first hospitalized, and that the same night there had been a thunderstorm.
Over the course of her elementary school years, Haruhi showed extreme promise and potential. She was top student in her class almost every year, receiving high honors in nearly everything she did. She was also a very kind, charismatic girl; she was easily popular with the students, and was even asked out quite a few times. Despite that, she was nothing more than average. As she grew, she remained more alongside the lines of "pretty" than "well-endowed"; she hardly had anything to show for a fifteen-year-old girl.
As a middle-school student, Haruhi applied for the one thing she really wanted: to attend the prestigious Ouran Academy, a school usually reserved for children who were easily swimming in money. Applying for the honor student scholarship, Haruhi insisted on doing almost all of the work on her own; she never asked her father or teachers for help, doing all of her own research and filling out the paperwork herself. Her father was very supportive of her quest, hoping dearly that his daughter would be the one to receive the scholarship.
The day she was called to Ouran Academy to speak with its owner and headmaster, Haruhi was in tears of joy. She hadn't expected to receive the scholarship, and yet she'd managed to pull it off. While she was relatively modest about it, Haruhi was almost impatient to go and fill out the paperwork; this time, however, her father insisted on filling it out himself, and she reluctantly allowed him.
A few days before school, however, Haruhi was hit with a bit of a dilemma. While she wasn't all that attached to it, she was forced to crop her hair down to a short, earlobe-length style after a boy decided it would be funny to put gum in it. While she did like having long hair, she also felt that a change might not be a bad idea, either. It was only followed a few days later by a small mishap, however; on her first day at Ouran Academy, she lost her contact lenses, forcing her to go back to her thick-rimmed glasses instead.
Now, Haruhi attends Ouran Academy, waiting to see what will happen to her next...

Sample RP:With a sigh, Haruhi closed the fourth library's door, slinking down the hallway in a bit of a depressed state. She was dressed very plainly, wearing baggy boys' clothes and her thick-rimmed glasses. Having lost her contact lenses on the first day of school, she was forced to resort to her glasses, of which she could handle wearing out of necessity, but really preferred her contacts more than anything. She'd have to wait until her prescription updated before she could get another set of contacts, as it wasn't exactly cheap to do so...
Regardless, she wandered the halls almost aimlessly, trying to straighten her hair out a little in her boredom. It was relatively messy today, as she'd just ran a brush through it and left, picked out some haphazard clothes, and got on with life. She couldn't afford the Ouran uniform, therefore she wasn't required to wear it, but nonetheless she probably wouldn't have, either. The girls' uniform was too... Bright for her tastes. She didn't exactly enjoy clothing that was tight like the dress was, meaning she wouldn't have liked to wear it all that much. She'd have preferred the boys' uniform over anything else.
Wandering around, she found herself in front of a room. It appeared to be the old abandoned music room, though she wondered why in the world it would be abandoned. There were three different music rooms, so surely it had to have a purpose; glancing down the hallway, she noted that it was right next to the Black Magic Club's room, somewhere that she wouldn't entirely have wanted to use it for anything to do with music, either. She'd seen the leader of the Black Magic Club around the school, and she had to say that he kind of creeped her out. Maybe she was just overreacting, but he did give off that kind of vibe... Not to mention that his little puppet-cat was kind of weird as well.
"Well, it's an abandoned music room... What harm could it do? It's clearly abandoned, so it'd probably be a nice quiet place to study." She certainly wasn't going to complain if it was quiet. It would be better than sitting in the loud library... How in the world would a library be loud, anyway? Weren't most librarians always telling people to shush? It seemed more like a common room to her than anything...
