::Tsubame Oshiro::
Type: Original
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Hetero
Crushes: "W-what kind of question is that!?"
Face Claim: Sawako Kuronuma-Kimi ni Todoke
Appearance:Tsubame is pure Japanese and settles with a rather plain appearance. Her silky black hair reaches to the middle of her back with her bangs just cut above her eyes, and is sometimes tied in a bun when she is busy. She wears little make-up, such as some eye liner and mascara, causing her large almond shape eyes to seem bottomless. With dark hair and eyes her skin seems almost like porcelain and standing only a 159cm with a petite build she resembles that of a plain doll. Yet her small limbs hold an unseen strength from carrying bags of heavy ingredients. Her lips are about medium sized and her smile is usually a small polite smile, it is rare to see a true smile from her.
She wears the uniform on school days and around her grandfather she wears only kimonos. Yet when grandfather's away Tsubame dresses in cute clothing, but nothing over the top fancy. But if she's in the kitchen she is bound to be covered in flour no matter what she's wearing. There also seems the be a locket with a long chain around her neck that she wears with anything, it holds a picture of both her mother and father together and smiling.
Personality:Tsubame is not one to wear her heart on her sleeves at all times. Her grandfather taught her to be exceedingly polite but at times she forgets her etiquette and a little piece of her true self is shown through. Sometimes she seems easily flustered, like if asked something embarrassing she usually stutters before answering the question vaguely. She's just happy to blend into the wall yet with her family everyone wants to be her friend. Luckily she's not as naive as some people believe, when in fact she has a little bit of a cynical side. Tsubame understands that if someone refers to you in a very polite way and always tries to get on you good side, they want something. Yet she know the difference between real and fake emotions, being a connoisseur with them.
The only environment where she is herself is in a kitchen, she absolutely, head over heels, adores cooking. Any style and any kind. It is why she joined the cooking club, but it seems most in the cooking club gossip and taste food. She just follows along until everyone leaves and then starts cooking. It's not that she's embarrassed by her hobby, she just doesn't want to be in someones way, sometimes she cooks while the clubs in session. Tsubame seems to have a knack for knowing what to cook for people. You could say she reads the vibe she gets from people and puts it into food. If you ask her she could guess your favorite type of food in two guesses. Other than food she favors rare flowers and birds, especially the Swallow because her name is the same. Tsubame envies how freely they can fly and often watches them.
Time has alway been a thing she loses track of, it doesn't matter if she has a watch Tsubame is late to everything. It's not even a fashionably late it's just late. She always finds herself jogging to classes or sitting in her desk way before class starts. Of course the only ones who give her a hard time about this is the Cooking club, cause she cooks the foods they eat. And when it comes to her grandfather and her cooking she completely denies it. In fact when her grandfather is present she is so polite she feels like she's in pain.
From her grandfather's tutoring she has gained mathematical knowledge like that of an experienced mathematician. Along with separate tutoring she is quite fluent in French, German, and English. She also has no trouble with literature but dislikes reading boring material, and also dislikes being so polite all the time.
Oh and last but certainly not least I would suggest not doing anything that will get her to hold a grudge. Normally she's good natured about things and brushes it off, but if you break the barrier be prepared to pay the price. You really don't want to see her bad side.
History:[Well I'm not normally good with histories but here goes nothing -cracks knuckles-]
In context of rank, the Oshiro family is among the top. The family built up their wealth long before even Tsubame's grandfather was born. They started as a family of merchants but then discovered their gifts in arithmetic and statistics. Soon their empire was built of insurance policies, financing for big companies and transportation, and the business is passed on from father to son. Tsubame's grandfather still held possession of the company, until his son was old enough to take over. Which in the case of the Oshiro family, is usually at a young age. Tsubame's father was as much of a math whiz as his father and took over the company with ease. It was when the arranged marriage with Tsubame's mother that her father felt flustered for the first time. The family is very traditional so Tsubame is the spitting image of her mother and they were actually in love when they married.
Tsubame was born healthy and full of life and her parents were ever so proud. Yet it was a year later that her father was in an accident and died. After that her mother became more distant, yet loved her daughter dearly. Tsubame's grandfather took over the business once more and, against her mothers wishes, began to teach Tsubame arithmetic at a very early age. Not only was arithmetic taught but etiquette, and her grandfather was a strict teacher. There was no back talk, and there was no dreaming, only arithmetic, statistics and etiquette. Math was never a hard subject for Tsubame, her grandfather said she has more of the math gene than anyone, and by age nine she could do college level math. And it was exactly at that age that she learned about cooking.
One day when her grandfather and mother were away, Tsubame roamed their traditional mansion and follow the fantastic smells that made her stomach growl. When she walked into the kitchen it took a few moments before the attendants and chef's noticed her small figure in the door way, and when they did everyone froze. They had not seen the young lady and were surprised that she had found her way to the kitchen. Yet they returned to cooking with Tsubame's curious eyes watching their every move. She was intrigued by what happened in this room, so while she was home alone she would go back to the kitchen and watch.
A few months later the head chef asked if Tsubame would like to help. Her attendants gasped and were worried of how the young miss would respond. But Tsubame's eyes widened and a bright smile spread on her face. All suspicion of her complaining to her grandfather were gone, and the young miss became a helper in the kitchen. Then as she grew older her grandfather took more business trips and was away for months at a time. So Tsubame was taught how to cook in those months of free time, and she learned fast and soon she was at the same level as the head chef.
Before she enrolled at Ouran she was home schooled and tutored in many different subjects. Her grandfather was the one who enrolled her at Ouran High School to gain knowledge of who would be taking over businesses in the near future and was told to be friends with them, yet at school she was the girl everyone needed to be friends with, so she would smile politely and play their games. Tsubame felt that her only true friends were the kitchen staff, although she could not acknowledge them while her grandfather was present. Her mother didn't mind, all she wanted was her daughter to be happy.
So at school she puts on a polite mask and tries to blend in with the wall. She watches the teachers with bland interest as they explain things she already knows and cooks when she has free time.Controller's Information

Sample RP:The car rides were always silent, and Tsubame always dreaded them. Yet it was not the car ride itself that unnerved her, it was the destination the car was headed. She shifted on the soft leather seat and gazed out the window, staring at nothing and everything. Her reflection watched her with a blank face, bottomless dark eyes that seemed to suck in light and a pale complexion that looked fragile in the tinted glass. She didn't like looking like a doll, people would assume any hard task would cause her to break. Yet she wouldn't correct them, her grandfather had said that a girl is fragile and polite. And she had to follow what her grandfather said, or as he would say, she would bring dishonor to the Oshiro name. In those moments she wished she was not an Oshiro but a commoner.
When Ouran's large complex came into view, Tsubame could not help but admire the architecture. But the people inside the building she wished she could avoid, it would be fake smiles and compliments that would greet her. Her grip tightened on her back as the school came closer and closer into view. Deep breaths, she reminded herself. If she didn't calm down Tsubame believed her heart would give out. It was just school, a school where everyone wanted something from everyone else. Yet she played their games and gained their favor. She understood this was a world of masks, and in order to survive one must wear a mask as well.
As the car pulled up in front of the gate and waited for the driver to open her door, the man asked if she needed help with her things, "No thank you," she replied politely. Her small feet settled on the ground and she stood with her bag in front of her. The driver bowed before walking back around the car and slowly drove off. So Tsubame was left alone looking at the vast school before walking slowly through gates and towards the main door. Smiling she waved to the people she knew and they returned her greeting. So the game of masks continued.
