::Haruka Sasaki::
Type: Original
Age: Seventeen, February 14th
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Crushes: "A waste of time, really"
Face Claim: Megurine Luka
Appearance:Weighting a mere 115lbs and being only 5'4'' tall, Haruka is often compared to a fragile porcelain doll, which is actually a big misconception as she is actually a bit of a tomboy. When she's not wearing her school uniform, she tends to wear whatever she feels more comfortable with, often just grabbing the first thing she can find. That being said, she does put a bit of effort into putting an outfit together, but just the least bit necessary to make her look somewhat decent ("I don't really enjoy looking like I've dressed in the dark"). Jeans and t-shirts are the most common items one will see her wearing, and maybe, once in a blue moon, a dress. She does seem to favour the darker colours over brighter ones. In her own words, she doesn't want to look like a walking, talking neon sign. When she's wearing her school uniform though, it's a completely different story. There's not a single thread out of place in Haruka's uniform and she tries her best to look presentable when she's wearing it, which means using it the way it was supposed to be, with no variations.
Make-up wise, Haruka isn't really one to care about that. Maybe the occasional dark eyeliner or red lipstick, but those are really really rare with her. She doesn't really have the patience to apply make up every single day, and spend hours in front of a mirror making sure she looks perfect. It's just too much of an hassle, really. She does have a passion for nail polishes it seems, and she's always changing the colour of her nails. Again, it's mostly dark colours she picks for this, blacks, deep blues, deep purples, but she has been seen with brighter colours on occasion, such as neon green or yellow.
Personality:Haruka has always been a quiet and reserved individual. It's not that she is shy per se, but she doesn't really like talking that much, especially when there's no point for a certain conversation. She does, however, have absolutely no problem when it comes to voicing her opinion, nor does she seem to have many difficulties to stand up for herself and for what she thinks is right if the moment calls for it. She has a sharp tongue and is amazingly fluent in Sarcasm. Much like her father, Haruka seems to have a strongly-felt internal sense of duty, that makes her always want to follow through with every task she sets her mind into. She was taught from an early age to always do her best to achieve her goals and she tends to stick to that policy the best she can. She values organization and security, and it's not like her to break the rules imposed by others unless she sees it as extremely necessary (and even then she won't feel too comfortable doing it). Although most of the times, she as a serious air about her, Haruka does have a sense of humor, albeit a bit offbeat. This is mainly due to her mother, who always told her nothing good came from being overly serious.
Haruka always tries to see the best in people. While this might be seen as a bit naive, she feels like everyone has to have at least a bit of good in them, and if it's there, there's always a chance they might use it. More than often, this has gotten her hurt, but she still believes it. She knows very well the world ins't all in black and white, and mostly what we see are shades of gray, and therefore people shouldn't be judged for their actions alone, rather for their intentions. Because of this, Haruka is quick to forgive someone, and doesn't really seem to hold grudges. Well, that is, when she's the one affected. When it comes to those she loves, Haru seems to get a little bit 'blinded' and isn't nearly as forgiving as she would be if she had been the one getting hurt. The people she loves are her main weakness, and her judgment is often clouded when they are concerned.
One interesting fact about Haru is that she seems to have problems when it comes to figuring out how people around her are feeling, unless they tell her directly. A slight slump of shoulders, for example, won't have her asking you what's wrong. In fact, she's not likely to notice it unless you actually say to her 'i had a crappy day' or 'i'm not feeling well'. However, if you do that, Haru will be all ears, and will try her best to help you out. Another thing she's not really good at are public displays of emotion. Not only do they confuse her, but she also doesn't seem to be able to take part in them. She was never prone to outbursts of emotion, not even as a little kid (much to her mother's dismay). She doesn't like to be hugged in public, to have people telling her they love her in public, or pretty much do anything of the sort in public. It makes her feel awkward, and she never knows how to react. She only seems to feel comfortable with showing off her joy. Laughing, is pretty much the only thing Haru will do in public without feeling too awkward (truth is, she does find the weirdest of things amusing). If it wasn't for that, Haru would seem incapable of emotion.
History:Haruka Caroline Sasaki was born to two very different people. Her mother, Caroline Hudson, was a photographer from London, England. She had only came to Japan for a short period of time (little over a year), to have her works displayed in an art gallery and to do some work for a modeling agency. It was then that she met Yasuhiro Sasaki, the CEO of a big pharmaceutical company. The two started seeing each other more frequently, and what started as a mere friendship quickly evolved into something more.
Was it love? Quite possibly yes, but as it happens with all good things, Caroline's year in Japan was over and she had to return to England. What none of them knew by then was that Caroline was actually pregnant with Haruka, something she only found about afterwards. The following months were probably the worst for Caroline as she kept on debating whether or not she should tel Yasushiro. She feared what is reaction might be after find out that a woman of lower status than him had become pregnant with his child. He might not even believe her, and think it was all just a lie she was making up to marry a rich man.
It wasn't until Haruka was about to be born that Caroline finally decided to contact Yasushiro. It had took her a while, but she had decided it would at least be worth a shot. If he thought she was lying, then they would go on with their lives, if not... well, she hadn't thought that far yet. It was a simple call, and has she had expected, he had been suspicious. Maybe if she had called him earlier... However, Yasushiro decided to go to England to get the story straight, and arrived a couple of days before the girl he had yet to know has his daughter was born.
Haruka was born on the 14th of February, and ironic date considering the situation her parents were in. Shortly after she was born, Yasushiro demanded a paternity test. And well, Caroline hadn't been lying. However, what happened next wasn't something she had been expecting as he asked her to marry him and to go back to Japan with him. And so, little Haruka flew with her parents to Japan, where she has been living for most her life.
However, both her parents had their careers, and even though Caroline had agreed to live with Yasushiro in Japan, she still was a famous photographer, and had work offers that took her all over the world. As a child, Haruka saw very little of her mother, as she was constantly traveling, for England mostly. Her father was the most present figure in her life, even though he was constantly busy with his work. And so, Haruka grew as a pretty lonely child, having most contact with her nannies.
Whenever Caroline was around, she tried to spend as much time as she possibly could with her daughter, making sure the two of them could have as much fun as they possibly could while she was around. Because of this, Haruka grew closer to her mother than to her father, even though she saw him more often. As Haruka grew she started showing and interest to go with her mother on her trips. At first, she was denied this, as her parents though it wasn't a stable environment for her to grow in, but eventually they gave in.
When she was fourteen, her mother had to go to England for a long period of time and Haruka went with to study, enrolling a private school in London. Surprisingly enough, she didn't have an hard time adjusting to the school, and even made some friends with whom she keeps in touch through email. When she returned to Japan, her father showed an interest that she would enroll Ouran, and here we have her for her first year at a new school.

from a different site, I hope it's okayA trip to the kitchens seemed more tempting with every passing moment.
Mary Macdonald sighed once more and turned around in her bed for what would seem like the hundredth time that night. However, sleep seemed to have forsaken the female Gryffindor as she wasn't able to rest, no matter how hard she tried. At first, reading seemed to be the best option, but not very long after she had taken on said task, Lilly had started to mumble incoherent things about not being able to sleep with the light on and that she should shut it. And so, Mary had done what her best friend wanted, thus having nothing to do, and becoming a very bored, very sleepless Mary.
And that was where her need for a trip to the kitchens had started. At first, it had been just a simple though. "A cup of hot chocolate would be so nice right now", as simple as that. Something her mother always did to her when she couldn't sleep. And the school's elves just happened to make the best hot chocolate she had ever tasted. With that, a simple thought slowly started to turn into a craving, an actual hunger for hot chocolate. But there was only one tiny problem with her idea. She'd have to go through all the castle and down to the kitchen at who knows what time it was in the morning. And that seemed a bit too much for just a cup of hot chocolate.
The female sighed and turned again in her bed. "Marly. Hey Marly" she called out to her friend, trying to keep her voice as low as possible. If anything, she knew the blonde would be up to join her, and it would only be half bad to roam the desert halls of the castle with someone else. Yet, it was of no avail, Marlene didn't seem anywhere close to waking up as she had been five minutes ago. There was no use. She was all alone in her insomnia. Sighing yet again, Mary resigned to staring at the ceiling for the time being, as she debated whether or not she should just get up and get the bloody hot chocolate.
It must have been around this time that she started to doze off, or at least that's what she thought that happened, because next thing she knew, sunlight was hitting her face and she was squinting, wondering when she had fallen asleep cause she didn't remember it at all. As if on cue, her stomach growled loudly, begging for the food she had denied him all night. There was nothing she could do about it now was it? At least the excuse of breaking curfew didn't apply any longer.
Mary threw her covers aside, swinging her legs out of her bed. Trying to go back to sleep now wouldn't help at all, not while she was hungry, and definitely not after she had spent most of the night awake. If she let herself sleep now, she wouldn't wake up in time for classes. The agonizing morning routine seemed to be even more agonizing, and she couldn't stop yawning as she got dressed and adjusted each clothing item in her uniform until near perfection. After that she only had to grab her books (she was certain she had left her potions book somewhere in the common room) and bag and head out .
As she expected, the common room was still deserted, though she doubted it would remain like that much longer. People should be getting up soon. Now for her potions book. Last night she had been working on the essay... right on the same chair that was now occupied by a sleeping James Potter. Another sigh and she marched right up to him, not really caring that he might not have slept that much. Well, first, she didn't know, and second, she really needed her book to finish that essay in time.
And thus she shook him awake. Quite nonchalantly actually. "James? James? James!" Mary called in between shakes, trying to wake the boy up. She was about to give up (and just accio the damn thing, let him fall of the chair) when he started to wake up, She would have laughed at the look on his face, had it not been for her need to get the book. "Would you mind getting up?" she asked yawning a bit "I think you might be sitting on my book" she added, with an incredibly serious look.
