Umehito strolled towards the library, it was always busy with people studying or discussing the latest gossip. Umehito was there for studying, since he abhorred gossip nor had anyone to gossip with anyway. He was there for a book, a particular one to be precise, one on everyday life of commoners. It sounded interesting and just the kind of subject that the cloaked boy knew naught about.
Once he entered the library it suddenly quieted, the only noise heard were a few shuffles as people moved to the other side of the library. He hated this reaction, the absolute terrified look on some of the girls face as he walked passed them. It was not like he would curse them without reason now would he?
He walked towards the tables near the section his book was at. He quickly found it, hidden among to larger books and covered in light dust. It appears that many people did not care about commoner life, but Umehito Nekozawa was never 'many people'.
He sat down with a quiet plop, setting his book in front of him as he pulled his cloak hem out from the tangled mess it had become during his sit. Nekozawa keenly noticed other people at his table, but made no motion to look up, lest he frighten them away also.

Sophia had yet to discover any friends, and as she overhears people saying the libraries are the best places to catch up on gossip, she thought she'd check it out and possibly find someone to talk to. So after class ended one particularly sunny afternoon, she decided to check out one of the libraries and begin her search for friends.
The one she went to was, as the standard of Ouran, huge. There were towers of books all around. Then, as promised she noticed the throngs of students sitting at tables, trying to quietly talk to their friends. Of course they failed at it though, there were too many people talking at once for it to be unnoticeable.
There was one table though, in a darker, more secluded corner of the room where the students looked awkward and out of place. They looked like they wanted to leave and never come back. Or scream in terror. Maybe a little bit of both. Curious, she went nearer to the odd group and discovered the source for their nervousness. She noticed a guy wearing a black cloak with a puppet resembling a cat sitting on his hand. The people at the table peeked up at him periodically and sent their friends uneasy glances. What was so scary about a guy in a cloak? Sophia, with her brave determination wanted to find out.
She walked up to the table in her graceful ballerina's gait, and tapped the boy gently on the shoulder. The other people at the table looked staggered at her boldness. She could care less when they all silently stood up and walked away. She took the seat next to him, and deliberately cleared her throat to get the interesting stranger's attention.

Nekozawa was so engrossed in his book that he did not see or hear the doors open nor the person that walked in. Not that it would have distracted him anyway since he had never met the new girl and had once learned never to go up and greet someone because the liable reaction that they would run away.
Umehito found this new book fascinating, to the point that he unconsciously had his nose mere inches from the text. Commoner life was fascinating! If only he could go see it up close and do the things his books talked about.. but that was the one thing he could never do. He was so engrossed in the commoner world that he had not notice the light tap to his shoulder nor even the scrap of the chair against the floor.
He did however notice the loud clearing of someones throat. He gave a small unnoticeable jump and turned his head deftly to said person. "Yes?" He said in his ever so frightening voice, each syllable drawn out more then it had to be. It was a girl, she was so blond and dainty that he could immediately remember who she was. "You are.. Sophia Marie Rene St.Cloud Richard?" The cloaked boy asked in his best french, although he already knew the answer. Umehito made it his job to know every student's name and background if he needed the information for a curse or two.

The boy jumped when Sophia cleared her throat. He was wearing a green wig under his black as midnight cloak. He looked at her with his rather pretty light blue eyes. He said in a rather slow, spooky voice, "Yes?" Sophia smiled. She found it rather charming.
He continued, to her immense pleasure and surprise, in French, "You are.. Sophia Marie Rene St.Cloud Richard?" it wasn't the best she'd ever heard, but she was from France herself. Of course she'd heard better. She was happy though, nonetheless to hear her first language being spoken, regardless of whether or not it was perfect.
"Well, you seem to know me already, but may I ask who you are? And are you fluent in French?" She asked, assuming that he did understand her and replied in her clear voice back in French. Sophia then gave him a friendly, inviting smile, set her elbows on the table, rested her head in her hands and crossed her legs, completely interested in the curiously dressed boy. Who knows? If he was interesting enough, maybe they'd turn out to be friends? She liked that idea.

Umehito gave a soft smile when he, in response to his words, got a smile instead of a wince or scared expression. She was pretty, very much so, she reminded him of what his little Kirimi would look like if she were older.
"I am Nekozawa. Umehito Nekozawa, I am sure you know nil of me though.." He said with a slow cat-like grin. Although his french was not perfect because of how rusty he was it was successful enough to get his point across. "May I ask.. how Ouran is treating you?" He said with a slight pause, He had forgotten how to say certain words in french so he reverted to Japanese. "Do you mind speaking in Japanese?" He whispered decrepitly from his cloak.

When Nekozawa gave that gentle smile, Sophia couldn't help but smile some more. His name sounded cool, she thought to herself. His smile was replaced by a sinister grin as he continued his sentence. He asked if they could speak in Japanese, right? I think that's what he said. Her smile faltered some, but she tried to hide her dampened spirits. "Of course, although my Japanese isn't very good yet, you might have to be patient."
He said something else too about the school. How it is... Treating me? "Uh it's very beautiful here. I haven't made any friends yet though" She trailed off, blushing. Stupid! Why did you say anything? Now you look like a loser in front of a potential friend... Although by the looks of it, he wasn't the most popular student around. Sophia turned her head to look at the students who'd left the table earlier. One of the girls tried to inconspicuously stare at the two of them, but once she noticed Sophia caught her, she turned her head away swiftly.
Whatever. Nekozawa seemed to be a great guy. If other people were afraid of him, it was their loss. If she didn't get to make any other friends, Sophia is happy having one really close, great friend than a bunch of random friends. And this one seemed to be an outcast, just like her. She could only home they'd become friends.
